Canopus has initiated several research and development studies for 2010
These include:
- Antibacterial screening of several coded compounds against Enterovirus-71, which is responsible for epidemics of severe neurological diseases in children. Canopus is currently screening 6 compounds; the most efficacious will then be brought forward for development over the coming months.
- Several of Canopus’ compounds are also being evaluated against MRSA and multi-resistant-TB, two infections that urgently require effective treatments. Similarly to EV-71, the most effective compounds will be further developed throughout 2010.
